There are times in life when we find ourselves faced with either our own or loved ones’ needs for support with challenging health and lifestyle changes. These can range from distressing injuries to more progressive, debilitating illnesses.
On most occasions, these life changing situations can cause a huge stress for those affected, whether you are the person suffering with those changes or the one caring and assisting in their life.
A number of healthcare services either remain suspended or have long waiting times, which inevitably causes a delay in recovery and often a decline in the health of the individual. This can also lead to numerous issues such as slow diagnosis, further pain and suffering and in some cases complications of stress and a general lack of support and care.
We recognise this and are introducing a range of support services, which otherwise may be unavailable or inaccessible. The services comprise two main areas, these being a ‘patient/client/carer advocacy service’ and a ‘well-being service’.
This all-round holistic approach offers an initial discussion that can help identify whether any assistance is needed. Craig, who has a long background in social work, talking therapy services and as an advocate for the individual, can represent and communicate with a wide range of service and healthcare providers. He can also provide helpful assistance and guidance in researching and applying for funding, grants and associated assistance, some of which the majority of people facing this situation may be daunted by or unaware of.
As part of the initial discussion, an assessment of physical, mental, emotional well-being and in particular social circumstances, aims to promote and achieve optimal well-being of the individual by setting personalised goals.
